Our applications at customer sites are based on ABB DCS (800xA-AC800M/AC450, SattLine) and as well Siemens S7-PLC’s. We create additional value for our customers by optimizing the degree of automation, by reaching extension of system lifecycle and by improving plant-uptime – via design & via support-availability incl. 7/24 on call service.
Job Description
- Engineering and execution of the Distributed Control System (DCS) and other Control Systems for power-infrastructure (energy from waste / district-heating) and pharmaceutical/chemical plants
- Controller-programming, configuration of HMI-systems
- System engineering / installation of Servers, VM-machines, configuration of IT hardware as e.g. switches/routers
- Generation of QA-documents (e.g. IQ/OQ) as well as execution of tests e.g. Factory Acceptance Testing
- Engineering and selection of field instruments (e.g. pressure, temperature, level, flow, etc) specification / timely ordering of hardware for projects
- Supervision of suppliers as e.g. cabinet suppliers in realization phase incl. review of hardware design documents (cabinet layout drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams)
- On site commissioning / service-engineering on site (sites in Switzerland – distances usually < 100 km from office)
- Handling of later application changes on site
- Work in 7/24 support team after successful start-up phase
- Willingness to local travel approx. 20%
Qualifications
- Degree on level university or college of applied sciences in automation or e.g. electrical engineering
- experience in engineering of control systems, preferably in process-industry or in power plant applications
- Knowledge of field instrumentation and measuring principles e.g. for pressure, temperature, level and flow
- General understanding of power-/chemical processes, PID’s, water-steam cycle
- Commissioning and operational experience
- Knowledge of bus communication protocols (e.g. Profibus, ProfiNet, ModbusTCP, OPC, IEC61850) is an advantage
- Functional Safety Engineer certificate is an advantage
- Cyber Security Engineer certificate is an advantage
- Experience with design of instruments and cables in ATEX environment is an advantage
- Fluency in English; German and other languages are an advantage (courses to learn German: offered, if candidate is not yet German speaking)
Competence in working methods
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach, ability to make decisions
- Good MS Office user knowledge
- Knowledge of engineering tools used in process automation (e.g. ABB 800xA, Siemens TIA-Portal, EPLAN or comparable tools)
